Module: Visual Design Basics | Level: Hard | Estimated Time: 4 days
Skills: Visual Hierarchy, Layout, Color Theory, Typography, Iconography, Branding, Logo Design, Design System, Style Guide
With the rise of small screens, long-scroll landing pages are the perfect format for creative visual storytelling. In this brief, you’ll design a long-scroll landing page for a bed and breakfast. The goal: drive visitors to make reservations.
Encourage scrolling and user engagement by incorporating color blocking, interactive elements, creative visuals, or animation. Your page should include an overview of the establishment, rooms / amenities, local activities, contact info, and any other sections you like.
Use a simple, sticky navigation to help orient users—it should be immediately clear that the page scrolls down. Lastly, add a strong call to action at the bottom of the page to maintain momentum.
Design a long-scroll landing page for a bed & breakfast. The page can include the entire website or simply serve as a long homepage with links to other pages.
Your capstone should incorporate all skills practiced in the Visual Design Basics module, including typography, color theory, layout, branding, visual hierarchy, and creative thinking.
